Hello, this summer I had the great pleasure to do an illustration for a book to be published by Dunod: The Language of Adam of Derek Bickerton. (Of course with such a title, I made sure before agreeing to the image that this book was not a creationist!)
In fact it is a book about the emergence of language at the dawn of humanity. Derek Bickerton is a renowned linguist and the little I have read here or there makes me really excited to take this book into the hands to read it! Not that I am very sharp in linguistics (Chomsky I read that political writing) but on the question of the emergence of language, I am very curious TRREE.
The illustration for this book from cover features two homo habilis in full "discussion". I realized while preparing this watercolor that there was a lot of things to do on the ancient hominid, I was really thinking, particularly on the issue of fossil hairy men ... I will return without probably one of the four on this exciting and full of pitfalls.
Below is an overview of the coverage of the 4th and back cover of the book The Language of Adam (in bookstores in early October). To learn more, plug the book on the publisher's website Dunod.
